The Maya Midi dress is made of pure handwoven mulberry silk. Handmade by Rare & Fair’s experienced weaving artisans and tailors. Hand-reeled weft yarns adds subtle, beautiful texturing to the dress.
The dress is midi-length with open-back detailing. Self-tie straps at back creates an elegantly chic and charming look. The mulberry silk fabric is lightweight and breathable, perfect for that summer wedding or special event. Style it with sandal heels in the summer or throw on a cropped blazer or jacket with pointed shoes for that formal look.

The Story
Neatly crafted from hand-reeled and handwoven Mulberry silk, The Maya dress has a beautiful yet unique subtle texture like no other. The silk fabric is created by our partners at Maithong Suranaree Co-operative, supporting silk farmers and rural weaving artisans with every dress sold.Â
The weft yarns are homemade or known among Thais as Mai Baan, which is locally grown by rural villagers and then hand-reeled in order to create the subtle texture we just love. The warp yarns are ethically sourced from the most trustworthy silk producer in Thailand, Chul Thai Silk, whose work supports over 2000 Mulberry silk farmers in rural Thailand.
Fabric Care
To ensure your sustainable silk retains its charm and beauty for many years to come, we recommend the following:
Care
Take care to avoid extreme heat and direct sunlight when storing the product as this may cause colour fading and/or shrinkage. We recommend storing the product in a cool, shaded and dry place at all times.Â
Cleaning
Dry-clean only. Wear more, Â clean less! Iron inside out on a low heat.
Hand-Dyed
As with all hand-dyed products, some colour variation within and between items is normal. Hand-dyed products may bleed slightly when wet, so please follow cleaning instructions carefully.
Handwoven Fabric
Please note, all fabrics woven by hand may come with small knots, yarn pulls or short pieces of thread – these irregularities do not affect the quality or future durability of the product.  They act as an authenticity mark of fabric woven by hand and adds to the uniqueness and individualism of our products.
